Endometrial ablation
An endometrial ablation is a surgical procedure that destroys the endometrium, or lining of the uterus.
It is usually performed to decrease heavy or irregular uterine bleeding that is not due to cancer, endometrial polyps, or fibroids in women who no longer desire the potential for child-bearing. There are many different ways to perform an endometrial ablation, each with different success rates.
