The Essure Procedure

There are over 50 potential causes of chronic pelvic pain.

The exact cause is not always known. Some of the more common causes are endometriosis, adenomyosis, and adhesions (scarring from previous surgery or infections). In general, women with chronic pelvic pain often experience more depression and higher levels of anxiety.

You should consult your physician if you experience sudden onset or severe pain, if the pain interferes with your daily activities, pain with intercourse, new onset of pain with your menses, and pain with urination.

The treatment will depend on the most likely cause of the pain as determined by your physician. Treatment options may include medication, laparoscopy, or observation.
